Gary S. Silverman - Managing partner and
a founder of the law firm of Silverman
Theologou LLP, Mr. Silverman concentrates his practice in the areas of business law, creditor’s rights, estate planning, commercial litigation and commercial collections, representing individuals, start-up companies, large closely held businesses and public companies throughout Maryland, the District of Columbia and Pennsylvania. Mr. Silverman’s clients include construction material suppliers, construction contractors, retailers, manufacturers, solid waste disposal companies, insurance agencies and information technology service providers.
Mr. Silverman has handled a wide range of corporate and business matters and has advised management, business owners and purchasers of businesses on a variety of business issues including contract preparation and negotiation, formation of corporations, partnerships and limited liability companies, organization, operation, acquisition and sale of their business interests and, when necessary, financial reorganization of their businesses. Mr. Silverman has additionally handled a variety of commercial litigation matters concentrating in the area of commercial collections. Mr. Silverman’s 20 years of experience in business, litigation and commercial collections include the preparation of cases for court or arbitration throughout Maryland, the District of Columbia and Pennsylvania, including the filing of lawsuits, mechanics' liens, payment and performance bond claims, and pre-judgment and post judgment attachments.
Mr. Silverman is general counsel and advisor to numerous businesses, and has served on the Board of Directors of the National Capital Area Arthritis Foundation, Intercom Communications Corporation and Crius, Inc. Mr. Silverman is a member and served as an Ambassador of the Greater Washington Board of Trade. Mr. Silverman has lectured on topics including business law, commercial law, construction law and commercial collections to various business groups and organizations. Prior to founding Silverman
Theologou LLP, Mr. Silverman was managing partner at the
law firm of Silverman & Associates, Chartered, and prior to that practiced law at the New York law firm of Ganz, Hollinger & Towe, P.C. Mr. Silverman is a member of the American Bar Association and Maryland State Bar Association. Mr. Silverman is admitted to practice before the courts in Maryland, the District of Columbia and Pennsylvania, as well as the U.S. District Court of Maryland and the District of Columbia. Mr. Silverman is a graduate of the State University of New York at Albany and the Antioch School of Law.
Milt Theologou -
Mr. Theologou, is a founding partner of the law firm of Silverman
Theologou LLP. Prior that time Mr. Theologou spent 8 years as an associate and then
partner at the law firm of Silverman & Associates, Chartered. Mr. Theologou’s practice areas include consumer
and commercial collections, commercial litigation, business law and general practice. Mr. Theologou is a member of the Maryland State Bar Association, Montgomery County Bar Association and D.C. Bar Association. He is admitted to practice before the courts in Maryland and the District of Columbia, as well as the U.S. District Court of Maryland and the District of Columbia. Mr. Theologou received his bachelor’s of arts from The University of Maryland, where he graduated with Phi Beta Kappa honors, and received his juris doctorate from The University of Kansas School of Law.
David Mintz –
Prior to joining the firm in March of 2008, Mr. Mintz' experience included over 6
years in the bankruptcy departments of the law firms of
Friedman & MacFadyen, PC, and Bierman,
Geesing & Ward, LLC. Mr. Mintz’ practice areas include
commercial and consumer collections, commercial and consumer
litigation, bankruptcy and general practice. He is
admitted to practice law before the courts in Virginia, Maryland
and the District of Columbia. He is also admitted to
practice law before the United States Court of Appeals for the
Fourth Circuit, The United States District Court for the Eastern
District of Virginia, The United States Bankruptcy Court for the
Eastern District of Virginia, The United States District Court
for the District of Maryland, and The United States District
Court for the District of Columbia. Mr. Mintz is a member
of the Virginia State Bar, the Maryland State Bar Association,
the D.C. Bar, and the Bankruptcy Bar Association for the
District of Maryland. Mr. Mintz graduated
cum laude
from the Washington College of Law, American University.
Howard Libby - Mr. Libby
is Of Counsel to Silverman Theologou LLP. Prior to becoming Of Counsel to the firm, Mr. Libby was Chairman of Metropolitan Federal Savings & Loan. Mr. Libby’s practice areas include real estate transactions, corporate law, commercial law, business law and general practice. Mr. Libby is admitted to practice before the courts in Virginia and the District of Columbia. Mr. Libby is a graduate of the Georgetown University School of Law.
Mitchell Greebel - Mr. Greebel, a partner in the New York law firm of Greebel & Greebel
serving metropolitan New York City, Long Island and Westchester
County, and is Of Counsel to Silverman Theologou LLP. Mr. Greebel’s practice areas include corporate law, real property, matrimonial law, estate planning, surrogates court practice, commercial law, civil practice, trial practice, and elder law. Mr. Greebel is a member of the Brooklyn, Nassau County, New York State and New Jersey State Bar Associations.
